We booked this hotel last minute because it was the one night of our vacation when we did not have a hotel reservation. We needed a place to stay in the area, and fortunately found this hotel. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and in the center of the town. The night we arrived, we ate dinner at its restaurant, Leander. It was honestly one of the best meals we had during our stay in Germany. The same restaurant hosts the daily breakfast, and it was also delicious. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel!

This was my second time at the Thueringer Hof and I wholeheartedly recommend the hotel. Everything is perfect, from the friendly and attentive staff to the rooms, perfect location (5min by foot from the train station and close to all attractions and the walking street with many shops) and tasty breakfast (huge choice). The hotel's Leander restaurant deserves kudos as well - it features a great menu (...and tapas to accompany an after work drink) and prices match those of the restaurants in the area.

Not overdone, just the kind of "normal" hotel I d like to see more often ie not one of those standard chains but also not one of those "very special" boutique things - just a normal hotel where the staff are very friendly and the overall atmosphere is nice and you feel welcome.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, recommending things to see and do. The Christmas markets and main shopping district are a 5 minute walk away, which we enjoyed.
